Portable HF Antenna Base

1.8-54 MHz

The CHA HYBRID-MINI Base is designed to enhance the capabilities of the common HF radio application by allowing faster tuning operation across the HF bands including MARS/CAP frequencies. This antenna base has an integral broadband impedance matching network (transformer 5:1) allowing broadband antenna tuning. An external antenna tuner is required to provide a low VSWR. The unit is water resistant.

The HYBRID-MINI will serve as impedance transformer matching network and will greatly reduce the SWR at the load for the following antennas: CHA V1, CHA V1L, CHA V2L, CHA MIL and CHA MIL EXT.

The CHA HYBRID-MINI can be used mobile with the CHA V1, CHA V1L & CHA V2L or stationary with the provided 60' wire.

To increase the performance of the antenna between 1.8-4.0 MHz the CHA HYBRID-MINI can be used in two modes:

  • End Fed antenna installation with the provided 60’ wire (14 gauge) for NVIS and high performance communications.
  • The optional CHA MIL can replace the upper section of the CHA V1, CHA V1L, CHA V2L or can be used with the CHA MIL EXT. The CHA MIL will add 10’8” to the antenna system.
