P/N: CHA WINDOM 40
CHA WINDOM 40
The CHA WINDOM 40 antenna is designed for 40m, 20m & 10m. A tuner may be needed to tune the other bands between 80M and 6M. Power handling is 250W SSB. Built with the portable user in mind. Very light weight. Does not require an antenna tuner under normal circumstances. SWR is < 2:0 (Typically a 1:3 to 1:6 ) at about 35' to 45'. The antenna SWR is influenced by the balun elevation, wires angle, feed-line length and structures proximity.
The following SWR chart shows the SWR curves of the CHA WINDOM 40 elevated at about 10' of elevation and installed in an inverted "V" configuration. A RigExpert AA-520 and a 50' long RG-8X coax cable were used. The SWR will be influenced by the antenna elevation, the angle between the two legs and by the coax length and type.
Antenna total length is 66'. Antenna wire elements are #16 proprietary stranded wire (short side is 22' (6.7m) long and longer side is 44' (13.4m) long). Built with a 5:1 250W SSB balun mounted on a polycarbonate plate. A 10’ of paracord 550 has been added at each ends of the antenna and another 20’ to secure the balun.
Frequency: 6M – 40M
