Hybrid, factory attached spring removal ?

    Hi,

    I bought a hybrid which has the spring attached from the beginning, is it possible to remove that when I use it solely with wire antennas ?
    Guess that it would be a bit lighter in weight without it.

    The spring has been installed to be none removable. The reason was higher stability and strength at the joint. The unit has been built to easily resist 100 mph of wind pressure. But we're building a lighter format of the HYBRID for portable and base station. The lighter version will come without spring.

    The current HYBRID is 11" X 3.5" diameter
    The lighter HYBRID would be 7.5" X 2.5" diameter and at least HALF the weight

    The lighter version will probably going to come with a longer wire too. We'll use the CAUM canister for the lighter HYBRID design.

    Tnx, seems that I may be buying another one in the future then, the lower weight would probably make it possible to buy it directly from you and save some $$$ compared to the european price.
