Portable broadband HF wire system

A two-wire portable system for four documented field geometries.

Built for a real operating goal

Get four useful HF wire layouts from one lighter portable system

CHA TD Lite 2.0 gives a field operator two 60-foot wires and a compact matching unit that can become an inverted V, horizontal dipole, sloper, or inverted L.

Choose the geometry that fits the available supports and communication goal, then preserve the guide-defined radiator and counterpoise roles for the unbalanced layouts. It is the lighter, non-terminated TD option for operators prepared to use a tuner where the completed installation requires one.

  • Frequency1.8–54 MHz; tuner required on most frequencies and configurations
  • Power500 W PEP SSB, 250 W CW, 100 W continuous modes
  • Typical SWRLess than 3:1
  • RadiatorsTwo 60 ft antenna wires

Included equipment and documented configurations

Included

  • Matching unit
  • Two 60 ft antenna wires
  • Guide-listed attachment and storage hardware

Documented configurations

  • Inverted-V
  • Horizontal dipole
  • Sloping wire
  • Inverted-L
  • For sloper or inverted-L, one wire is the radiator and approximately 25 ft of the other is the counterpoise

Configuration boundary: Do not borrow TD 2.0 resistor topology or power claims. Coax, paracord, stakes, and supports are not included unless the selected store option explicitly lists them.

Coverage & Pattern

Use only a model that matches this exact antenna configuration, band, height, ground, feed, and RF return. The normalized simulations do not establish installed SWR, efficiency, realized gain, range, tuning, loss, or field performance.

Governed NEC reference

Modeled peak gain by exact CHA TD Lite 2.0 configuration

Use these values only for the exact modeled configuration and band shown. They are NEC simulation results in dBi, not guaranteed installed gain. Feed-system loss, matching loss, common-mode current, ground, height, nearby objects, and construction differences can change field performance.
