CHA-TDL get’s me on the air

"I love the CHA-TDL, it sets up fast and has great ears! I also like the ability to run it as a vertical. I am in a HOA and the ability to set up and take down is important to me. I pushed it up on a 15’Porta-Mast and the performance was even better! Perfect for POTA. Well made with quality components, I wish that I had bought this sooner."

Wonderful antenna; well worth the money

"Absolutely love the antenna and it's performance. So easy to set up, tune, and use. Thinking of playing with a ground plane set up to possibly increase it's performance. Thanks CHA 73 W4FNP"

Q&A

Four-configuration portable HF antenna system

Four useful antenna geometries from one controlled field system

When the site changes, change the antenna geometry.

CHA TDL turns two fully extended SS17 whips, a 25 ft 4 in wire, the TDL HUB, and a HYBRID matching unit into four controlled HF antenna geometries. Use the supplied ground hardware for an inverted delta loop or quick vertical; add the guide's optional mast arrangement for a horizontal dipole or V-dipole.

The point is geometry choice without a loose pile of interchangeable parts. Select one complete TDL configuration, assemble it exactly, and use a tuner or coupler on 80 through 40 meters.

  • Coverage80-6 m amateur bands

Documented ways to use this system

Each card describes a complete guide-controlled path. Connector fit alone does not create another supported configuration.

Inverted delta loop

Supplied-part short- to medium-range configuration with useful NVIS behavior below 10 MHz.

Ground vertical

Use one SS17 as the vertical radiator and the 25 ft 4 in wire in its documented counterpoise role.

Optional-mast dipoles

Form the guide's horizontal dipole or V-dipole using both SS17 whips and the controlled support arrangement.

Four configurations only: shared 3/8-24 threads do not authorize other radiator or mount substitutions. The 25 ft 4 in wire changes role only in the guide-defined vertical configuration.
