COUNTERPOISE KIT · Counterpoise & Radials
A radial or counterpoise component for documented unbalanced antenna configurations.
Why operators make room for it
Give the field vertical a return path it can use
CHA COUNTERPOISE KIT is a radiator or RF-return component used inside specific documented antenna configurations; it is not automatically a complete antenna by itself.
The Chameleon Antenna Counterpoise Kit is ideal for portable antenna deployment. The system will create the ground-plane needed to any vertical antenna.
CHA COUNTERPOISE KIT becomes valuable when its exact radiator or RF-return role is understood. Confirm where it attaches, which feed or matching component it works with, what support is needed, and whether it serves as a complete antenna, alternate radiator, extension, radial, or counterpoise. That context helps an owner expand a field kit deliberately instead of buying duplicate one-purpose hardware.
Choose it when its specific job removes a real point of friction from the station, and confirm what else is required before ordering. The best next step is always a verified compatible component or documented expansion—not a random accessory that merely looks related.

Operator decision support
Plan the complete setup
See what this product is best suited for, what the documented setup needs, and the boundaries to confirm before deployment.
- Best for
A vertical radiator may be the part everyone sees, but the return path on the ground can decide how repeatable the deployment becomes.
- What’s included
- Line Winder
- Counterpoise Wire
- Isolation Ring
- Terminal Ring
- Tent Stake
- What else you need
Connect it only at the documented ground or counterpoise point and keep it clear of trip hazards.
- Compatible with
It is compatible with the CHA SPIKE MOUNT, JAWMOUNT, and Universal Clamp Mount (UCM).
- Limitations
Use only with documented unbalanced antenna configurations; do not add it to a balanced dipole unless the official antenna guide explicitly requires it
What an operator can do
- Lay out the wire or radial system in the quantity, length, and pattern specified by the completed antenna guide.
- Connect it only at the documented ground or counterpoise point and keep it clear of trip hazards.
- Do not add radials or a counterpoise to a balanced dipole configuration.
Complete product details
The Chameleon Antenna Counterpoise Kit is ideal for portable antenna deployment. The system will create the ground-plane needed to any vertical antenna. The kit contains the following:
- 4 X 25' Tinned Copper KEVLAR PTFE (Teflon) 20 gauge (-70°C to 150°C) wire with isolating O-rings.
- 4X Wire Winders
- 4 X Steel Tent Stakes
- Each wire is terminated with a 3/8" ring terminal that can be attached at the base of the HYBRID MICRO OR HYBRID MINI, or to any other screw of 3/8" diameter.
