Multi Band Magic Solution

"Added two more bands to my POTA Challenger simply by replacing my 4:1 unum with this 5:1 hybrid. Well constructed. I’d recommend staying with the micro for a delta loop: the mini is large and a bit heavy unless you need it to handle the extra power."

Wow!

"I got the TDL mostly for Pota, and I have very small yard. I thought I would try it out in my side strip of yard, and I’ve been able to make contacts all over the southwest United States. I can’t wait to use it for Pota activations. The SWR on most bands is 1:5 ish."

Chameleon CHA Hybrid-Mini

"This is my second CHA Hybrid-Mini. The construction is solid. The product works as advertised. I recommend Chameleon products."

MPAS is fun

"Has worked over and over again in a park field. That's what it's supposed to do. No time to go to the park. Mini+SS17 definitely too close to fence. SWR is trash on 20 but it's okay on 17. Maybe a bit more length will bring it into tune. . . grab the SS25. The dip is in 20 and 17 is <2. 0. Fire it up, SSB 100W and grab a POTA on 20 and Barbados from Texas on 17. Love the flexibility."

My second Hybrid Mini

"Two is one and one is none. My original Hybrid Mini has been deployed as a sloper for 5 years now without fail. Purchased a 2nd one for a backup."

Great Expansion for my MPAS 2. 0

"This was a great expansion for my MPAS 2. 0 kit, especially working higher volumes of FT8. It’s substantially larger than my micro and really great for the backyard or car side deployments. The proof is on the pudding, using my expanded MPAS 2. 0 kit (added this, a DIY redial kit, and the limited edition MIL-Whip), I made FT8 contacts on 10m - 80m, running about 50W on the inaugural outing. That includes contacts in Poland, Italy, Germany, Japan, Fiji, and a slew of US stations. I spent just enough time on 40/80m to prove it works and could tune up. The setup really shines 20m and higher where I really had a lot of fun. I am really looking forward to trying more efficient antenna configurations. My micro is going anywhere, but the beefy mini does make a lot of FT8 fun."

Great product

"The unit works great. I paired it with the SS25 on a low tripod, a faraday cloth and 25 foot coax. I was able to get SWR below 2 on 6m to 80m using the built-in tuner in the IC-7300 and got great reports on my signal on SSB and FT8. The SS25 was fulling extended and did not require any adjustments."

Q&A

CHA HYBRID-MINI · Higher-power 5:1 UNUN matching unit

Broadband matching unit for documented HF configurations

Choose the HYBRID base when additional power capability governs.

The HYBRID-MINI uses an internal 5:1 UNUN to support documented wire and whip configurations from 1.8–54 MHz with a wide-range external antenna tuner. It is the higher-power member of the HYBRID family and weighs approximately 1.5 pounds.

Power is mode- and duty-cycle-specific. The lowest-rated item in the radio, tuner, feed-line, matching-unit, radiator, connector, and accessory path governs the completed system.
