Multi-Configuration Coil 2.0

A continuously adjustable loading coil for building documented resonant portable vertical antennas with compatible MPAS READY radiators, bases, mounts, and radial systems.

Tune the antenna you want to carry

Turn modular MPAS READY parts into a resonant field vertical

The CHA MCC 2.0 is for operators who want the compact footprint and fast setup of a portable vertical without being locked into one fixed band or one radiator length. Its continuously adjustable coil lets you move between documented base-loaded and center-loaded arrangements in the field.

Pair it with the specified Chameleon radiator, feedpoint, mount, and radial system, then use an analyzer or SWR meter to find the operating point. For POTA, travel, emergency kits, and space-limited campsites, it makes one modular parts kit far more adaptable.

Operator decision support

Plan the complete setup

See what this product is best suited for, what the documented setup needs, and the boundaries to confirm before deployment.

Best for

A portable radiator can only perform as a system when RF enters it through the right transformer, loading, feedpoint, or common-mode control component.

What else you need

Observe the lowest published power rating of every connected component and the duty-cycle limits for the operating mode.

Compatible with
  • CHA SS58, CHA MIL 2.0, and CHA SS17 radiators in their documented configurations
  • 3/8-24 top and bottom mechanical interfaces
Limitations
  • The lowest published power and duty-cycle rating of every connected component governs the completed system
  • Confirm every RF connector, thread, conductor, and ground or counterpoise connection before transmitting

What an operator can do

  • Build a compact SS58 base-loaded vertical for 40 through 10 meters.
  • Raise the coil on one or two SINGLE EXT sections for documented center-loaded configurations.
  • Use a MIL Whip in documented base-loaded or center-loaded configurations for 60 through 17 meters.
  • Use an SS17 as a base-loaded vertical for 75 through 30 meters, then shorten the whip for higher bands.
  • Tune resonance in the field by changing coil height instead of cutting a radiator.

Verified configuration examples

  • SS58 base loaded: approximately 70 in assembled.
  • SS58 center loaded with one SINGLE EXT: approximately 97 in assembled.
  • SS58 center loaded with two SINGLE EXT sections: approximately 124 in assembled.
  • MIL Whip base loaded: approximately 124 in assembled.
  • MIL Whip center loaded with one SINGLE EXT: approximately 151 in assembled.
  • SS17 base loaded: approximately 216 in assembled.

Requirements and compatibility

  • A compatible 3/8-24 radiator such as the SS58, MIL Whip, or SS17 in a documented configuration.
  • A suitable RF feedpoint/base, mount, coax connection, and radial or counterpoise system.
  • An antenna analyzer or SWR meter for final resonance adjustment.
Important: The MCC 2.0 is a component, not a complete antenna. Mechanical 3/8-24 fit does not by itself prove RF, power, or structural compatibility.

Package contents

  • 1 x CHA MCC 2.0 adjustable loading coil

Radiator, extensions, feedpoint/base, mount, coax, radial system, and analyzer are not included unless explicitly shown for a separate kit.
