Collapsible Electrical Radiator Extension
An 8 ft 9.5 in collapsible radiator section that installs below the CHA MIL 2.0 to create an approximately 18 ft 2 in documented MPAS vertical radiator.
More radiator when lower bands matter
Unfold a taller MPAS vertical from a packable field component
The CHA MIL EXT 2.0 nearly doubles the deployed length of the CHA MIL 2.0 while retaining the collapsible, field-ready format that portable operators expect. That added electrical length gives a documented MPAS vertical more useful lower-frequency capability without committing to a permanent mast.
It installs below the MIL 2.0 as an active part of the radiator, not as a general-purpose support. Combined with the correct HYBRID matching unit, mount, counterpoise, coax, and tuner, it creates an approximately 18-foot vertical for camping, POTA, emergency communications, and rapidly relocatable stations.

What an operator can do
- Increase the electrical and physical length of the CHA MIL 2.0 for improved lower-frequency performance.
- Build the documented MPAS 2.0 portable vertical using a HYBRID MICRO or MINI, MIL EXT 2.0, MIL 2.0, mount, counterpoise, and external tuner.
- Collapse four field sections into a compact transport length for man-pack and go-kit use.
Correct position in the system
- Approved mount and counterpoise system.
- CHA HYBRID MICRO or MINI matching transformer/base.
- CHA MIL EXT 2.0.
- CHA MIL 2.0 whip above the extension.
- Coax and a suitable wide-range external antenna tuner.
Deployment and maintenance
- Use a suitable external tuner as required by the documented broadband configuration.
- For short wet deployments, seal each joint with quality electrical tape and remove it after use.
- For longer installations, apply a suitable aluminum anti-oxidant compound to clean joints and weather-seal them.
- Do not exceed the structural limits of the selected mount, mast support, guying system, or connected radiator.
Package contents
