"This provides way more stability for the 25 foot whip."
"Works as expected"
"Needed something longer for my new CHM16 Mast"
"It is longer than my other Chameleon spike. I was concerned about flexing. This was not a problem. No matter what I put on it the spike was sold. Thank You"
"Quality product. Quick delivery."
"Very good quality, and service !"
"Great high quality build. No doubt a once in a lifetime purchase. Perfect foundation for multiple options."
"Have used twice now for POTA. Was able to insert it in the ground by hand for my first activation. Used it today at a different location and needed to tap it in with a wooden block and hammer, but only about six whacks. This will be my go-to mount unless I’m on pavement."
"Pick your poison. “Original length” or extended length. I purchased both spikes. The Original is for my Tactical Delta Loop and 17” SS Vertical. The new longer version is for the 25’ SS Vertical. Having both, already assembled with appropriate coil makes a very rapid deployment for EMCOMM purposes."
"This is my first carbon fiber mast so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but it is very well build and strong. It comes with cloth bag for protection. When stored, I thread a piece of plastic onto the 3/8-24 stud to add a bit more protection since the base bottom and stud is a solid chunk of stainless steel. The sections are textured, I presume to help them lock into place which they do. The mast is easy to extend and is strong even in our Texas wind. Since the top ring tip is something that would be easy to lose (according to the documentation), I’d recommend that Chameleon put a few into the kit (more than one). Overall, I’m happy with this mast and look forward to many years of service."
SPIKE MOUNT · Mounting & Support
A base, clamp, adapter, bracket, stake, or mount for a documented portable installation.
Why operators make room for it
The antenna can only stay useful if its base remains secure when leverage, wind, uneven ground, and hurried setup begin working against it.
That is where CHA SPIKE MOUNT enters the kit. The SPIKE MOUNT is an innovative new product built exclusively by the skilled machinists at Chameleon Antenna. It is a precision fabricated heavy-duty stainless-steel stake with a fitting for attaching the Hybrid HF antenna base and a counterpoise. It is rugged and highly portable and enables easy ground mounting of the Chameleon Antenna HF Modular Portable Antenna System (MPAS) or Hybrid Portable HF Antenna (HYBRID MINI/MICRO).
For the operator, a documented mount turns an improvised-looking site into a predictable installation with the correct adapter, fasteners, load limits, and guying.
