Great Setup!

"Very impressed with the new equipment and the V-dipole setup with hairpin match. Worked a total of 73 stations today during field day from my front yard in Michigan. Lots of east coast and southern states on 5 watts with my KX2. Highly recommend your products. Very durable and quick setup!"

V-Dipole

"Once again, Chameleon knocks it out of the park. The ordering process was smooth, and everything showed up on time and exactly as expected The CHA V-Dipole is a fantastic piece of gear. Build quality is excellent, just like you'd expect from Chameleon, and it performs like a champ right out of the box. Reliable, durable, and easy to deploy everything you want in an antenna. Very satisfied with this purchase and the overall experience. Highly recommended!"

New Product

""This is a great add-on! Thanks to the Chameleon modular methodology, I can use components I purchased years ago. After buying this kit, I was up and running with no problems. I didn't need to buy a whole new setup, which saved me money while allowing me to carry less and do more. Thank you!""

keith w. (5/5)

Hairpin match

"I already had the other components so this was just a purchase of the hairpin. The hairpin is well made and it's a very convenient way to add just the right amount of inductance across the feed point to get a 50 ohm match on the 30 and 40 meter bands."

Nathan I. (5/5)

Q&A

V-DIPOLE · Wire Antennas

A wire radiator or wire antenna system for documented horizontal, sloping, inverted-V, inverted-L, dipole, or NVIS use.

Why operators make room for it

Make the available trees, mast, and space work for the station

Sometimes the best antenna support is a tree at one end, a portable mast at the other, and just enough clear space between them.

The CHA V-DIPOLE is a compact, resonant portable HF antenna system designed to transform existing Chameleon Antenna MPAS READY and Tactical Delta Loop components into a highly capable portable “V” Dipole covering 40 through 6 meters.

That flexibility gives an operator a credible path from a compact field kit to a full-size radiator, while the official configuration still governs feedpoint, support, tuning, and safety choices.

What an operator can do

  • Select a documented horizontal, sloping, inverted-V, inverted-L, dipole, or NVIS arrangement.
  • Raise the wire with a support that satisfies the antenna guide's height, load, insulation, and guying limits.
  • Keep balanced dipole configurations symmetrical and do not add radial or counterpoise accessories unless the guide explicitly requires them.
Balanced-system rule: Do not add radial or counterpoise accessories to a dipole configuration unless the official guide explicitly requires them.

CHA V-DIPOLE

Portable Resonant “V” Dipole Add-On Kit for the MPAS READY Ecosystem

The CHA V-DIPOLE is a compact, resonant portable HF antenna system designed to transform existing Chameleon Antenna MPAS READY and Tactical Delta Loop components into a highly capable portable “V” Dipole covering 40 through 6 meters.

Built around the modular MPAS READY ecosystem philosophy, the CHA V-DIPOLE allows operators to reuse many of the same components they may already own — including SS17 telescopic whips, loading coils, HUB assemblies, mounting systems, adapters, and tripods — to rapidly configure a completely different portable antenna system tailored to their operating mission.

Unlike broadband compromise antennas that typically require antenna tuners, the CHA V-DIPOLE is a resonant antenna system that can provide low SWR operation on 40–6 meters when properly configured and tuned.

The low-mounted “V” Dipole geometry is specifically optimized for portable deployment. The angled “V” configuration helps keep the whip ends farther away from the ground compared with some compact low-mounted antenna layouts, while also reducing the horizontal footprint required for operation.

  • Portable HF operations
  • POTA and SOTA activations
  • Emergency communications
  • HOA environments
  • Campgrounds
  • Temporary field deployments
  • Off-grid communications
  • Tactical portable operations

The compact footprint and modular architecture enable rapid deployment and easy transport without requiring large support structures or permanent installations.

The CHA V-DIPOLE supports multiple deployment methods including:

  • Surveyor Tripod configurations
  • Spike Mount setups
  • UCM mounting systems
  • Portable field setups
  • HOA-friendly temporary installations

Covering 40–6 meters, the CHA V-DIPOLE utilizes different whip extension lengths and loading coil configurations to provide resonant operation across multiple amateur HF bands.

The CHA V-DIPOLE Add-On Kit includes (TWO OPTIONS)

FULL KIT

  • (2) CHA M-COIL Medium Loading Coils
  • CHA SS INSULATOR
  • Hairpin Match Assembly
  • CHA BLANK Adapter
  • SO-239 “T” Adapter

  • CHA SINGLE EXT Extension

HARDWARE CONNECTORS KIT

  • Hairpin Match Assembly
  • SO-239 “T” Adapter
  • PL-259 Adapters
  • Banana Jack to BNC Connector

The system integrates seamlessly with existing MPAS READY and Tactical Delta Loop components already used by operators worldwide, expanding the capability of your portable communications system without requiring an entirely separate antenna ecosystem.

Key Features

  • Resonant portable V-Dipole antenna
