MCC (MULTI CONFIGURATION COIL) · Feed Systems & Loading

A matching, loading, feedpoint, transformer, choke, or antenna-interface component.

Why operators make room for it

Turn a collection of parts into a deliberate RF system

The most visible part of an antenna is rarely the part doing the matching, loading, or current control that makes the deployment usable.

That is where CHA MCC (MULTI CONFIGURATION COIL) enters the kit. The core component of the Portable Resonant Vertical (PRV) Antenna Kit, known as the Multi Configuration Coil (MCC), serves as its foundation. The PRV Antenna Kits are skillfully engineered and built to withstand rugged conditions, making it particularly suited for demanding portable applications such as Parks On the Air (POTA), Summits On the Air (SOTA), and other outdoor radio pursuits that necessitate an antenna that's both efficient and easily transportable.

That gives the operator a controlled way to shape the completed antenna, verify the match at low power, and understand which component limit governs before transmitting harder.

Best for

The most visible part of an antenna is rarely the part doing the matching, loading, or current control that makes the deployment usable.

What else you need

Begin verification at low power and inspect every connection

Compatible with

Match every RF connector, thread, conductor, and ground / counterpoise connection

Limitations
  • Observe the lowest published rating of every connected component
  • Match every RF connector, thread, conductor, and ground / counterpoise connection

What an operator can do

  • Install the component at the documented feedpoint, loading position, or common-mode control location.
  • Observe the lowest published power rating of every connected component and the duty-cycle limits for the operating mode.
  • Verify resonance, SWR, tuner range, connector type, and grounding or counterpoise requirements before transmitting.
Compatibility: Physical fit does not by itself establish RF, power, environmental, or structural approval. Follow a documented completed-system configuration.

Complete product details

The core component of the Portable Resonant Vertical (PRV) Antenna Kit, known as the Multi Configuration Coil (MCC), serves as its foundation. The PRV Antenna Kits are skillfully engineered and built to withstand rugged conditions, making it particularly suited for demanding portable applications such as Parks On the Air (POTA), Summits On the Air (SOTA), and other outdoor radio pursuits that necessitate an antenna that's both efficient and easily transportable. This antenna is also an excellent choice for radio enthusiasts who reside in environments like RVs, apartments, or condos, where space is limited to a small balcony or patio.

Chameleon Antenna has designed the PRV to perfectly complement the latest generation of compact multi-band/multi-mode QRP transceivers, including models like the Icom IC-705, Xiegu G90 or X6100, LAB 599 TX500, and the Yaesu FT-817/818.
