Crossed-dipole near-vertical incidence skywave system
A self-guying crossed-dipole field antenna built around two sloping dipoles at a controlled 90-degree angle.
Built for a real operating goal
CHA NVIS is a purpose-built crossed-dipole system for high-angle HF coverage, giving field teams a controlled alternative to guessing at wire lengths and improvised support geometry.
Two dipole pairs cross at 90 degrees around an approximately 15-foot center support and also provide the guying geometry. The result is a portable regional-communications antenna whose layout, wire positions, and power limits are already defined in the guide.
Picture the setup before you buy
This official installation reference makes the antenna’s footprint, component order, and deployment style easier to understand at a glance.

Configuration boundary: Do not replace the crossed geometry with a generic dipole. The 38 ft and 25 ft pairs have defined positions. Use the current 100/50/25 W limits, not stale higher values.
