BLF-1215AS (12V, 15Ah LFP Battery) w/CHARGER · Power
A battery, charger, controller, solar panel, filter, or station-power component.
Why operators make room for it
BLF-1215AS (12V, 15Ah LFP Battery) w/CHARGER: charge the right LiFePO4 pack at a deliberate rate
BLF-1215AS gives a portable or backup radio station a defined 12V 15Ah LiFePO4 power source instead of forcing the operator to build the power system around an unknown battery. This battery-and-charger package is intended for customers who want quiet, portable DC energy for field operation, emergency readiness, or a station that must continue working away from commercial power.
The built-in protection circuit manages cell balancing and helps protect against overcurrent, excessive discharge, overvoltage, and short circuits. The package includes or identifies the compatible charging path, reducing the chance that a customer pairs the battery with an unsuitable generic charger. Those protections improve usability, but they do not replace correct fusing, cable sizing, connector polarity, ventilation, and load planning.
The real buying decision is operating time versus pack size and weight. A QRP station, a 100-watt HF transceiver, accessories, receive time, transmit duty cycle, mode, and output power all draw energy differently. Honest runtime scenarios, a clear connector path, and the radio-current limits make that tradeoff easier to judge than capacity alone.
Choose BLF-1215AS when its documented voltage, capacity, current capability, connector, charger, and expected duty cycle match the station you intend to power. That turns a battery specification into something useful: a predictable amount of radio time that can be planned, carried, and recharged.

Match chemistry, nominal voltage, current, polarity, connector, charger, and controller
What an operator can do
- Match battery chemistry, voltage, current capacity, connectors, charger, and controller to the station load.
- Protect every circuit with the specified polarity, fuse, cable size, ventilation, and charging limits.
- Estimate operating time from the actual transmit duty cycle rather than a maximum nameplate figure alone.
Complete product details
The Bioenno Power Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) Battery Model BLF-1215AS is a state of the art 12V 15Ah battery. Electrically identical to the BLF-1215A but having the same compact external dimensions as the BLF-1212AS, this AS ABS Sealed variant is the drop in solution for your system and application and offers the proven world-class performance of a Bioenno Power battery in a form factor you are familiar with. Ideal for hard use, this ABS version has seen extensive use powering critical avionics on sail planes with additional applications covering e-bikes, e-scooters, radio communications and audio-visual. The battery has an integrated PCM (protection circuit module) which provides complete internal cell balancing, complete integrated protection along with integrated charge circuitry and boasts no EMI/RFI (Electromagnetic Interference/Radio-Frequency Interference) and is absolutely quiet! This unit has an available 110VAC/220 VAC AC-to-DC charger, that provides 4A with Alligator Clips. Please note that this battery should be charged using a LiFePO4 compatible charger, and not a charger for SLA batteries.

IMPORTANT
In practice if you are not using the battery for more than 3 months, simply top off the battery using the BPC- wall charger every 3 months. You do not need to leave the BPC- wall charger attached to the battery all the time. Simply top off using the BPC- wall charger, the LED light on the charger turning from red to green. The 50% rule is only needed if you will not be using the battery for more than 1 year. In that case, you will need to discharge the battery to about 12.8 VDC and then disconnect the wall charger from the battery and store.
