BLF-1220A (10 hours on HF SSB at 20% TX and 80% RX) · Power
A battery, charger, controller, solar panel, filter, or station-power component.
Why operators make room for it
Build operating time into the field plan
Operating time is not an abstract battery number when the activation, emergency net, or camping trip is still underway.
That is where BLF-1220A (10 hours on HF SSB at 20% TX and 80% RX) enters the kit. Includes built-in PCM (protection circuit module) which provides internal cell balancing and management, protection from overcurrent, undervoltage (overdischarge), overvoltage and short circuiting, and has integrated charging circuitry Available 110VAC / 220 VAC Charger
For the operator, the goal is quiet and predictable endurance: enough correctly managed energy for the real radio load, with polarity, current, chemistry, charging, and protection handled deliberately.

- Best for
Operating time is not an abstract battery number when the activation, emergency net, or camping trip is still underway.
- What else you need
Protect every circuit with the specified polarity, fuse, cable size, ventilation, and charging limits.
What an operator can do
- Match battery chemistry, voltage, current capacity, connectors, charger, and controller to the station load.
- Protect every circuit with the specified polarity, fuse, cable size, ventilation, and charging limits.
- Estimate operating time from the actual transmit duty cycle rather than a maximum nameplate figure alone.
Complete product details
The Bioenno Power Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) Battery Model BLF-1220A is a state-of-the-art 12V 20Ah battery. The BLF-1220A is the entry level unit of Bioenno Power's high-power 12V battery line designed for more stationary applications and higher power consumption portable electronics requiring a higher capacity and greater power output battery while demanding a battery which can reliably provide excellent performance over an extended service life. The battery has an integrated PCM (protection circuit module) which provides complete internal cell balancing, complete integrated protection along with integrated charge circuitry and boasts no EMI/RFI (Electromagnetic Interference/Radio-Frequency Interference) and is absolutely quiet! This unit has available a 110VAC/220 VAC AC-to-DC charger, that provides 4A, with a DC Plug. Please note that this battery should be charged using a LiFePO4 compatible charger, and not with a charger for SLA batteries.
Includes built-in PCM (protection circuit module) which provides internal cell balancing and management, protection from overcurrent, undervoltage (overdischarge), overvoltage and short circuiting, and has integrated charging circuitry

IMPORTANT
In practice if you are not using the battery for more than 3 months, simply top off the battery using the BPC- wall charger every 3 months. You do not need to leave the BPC- wall charger attached to the battery all the time. Simply top off using the BPC- wall charger, the LED light on the charger turning from red to green. The 50% rule is only needed if you will not be using the battery for more than 1 year. In that case, you will need to discharge the battery to about 12.8 VDC and then disconnect the wall charger from the battery and store.
