The CHA MPAS 2.0 is built for operators who want one rugged, man-packable antenna system that can change with the mission. From a fast vertical at a roadside stop to a 73-foot wire at camp, the same core kit can be rearranged for local, regional, NVIS, and longer-distance HF communication.
Its modular approach combines a HYBRID MICRO or HYBRID MINI matching unit, antenna and counterpoise wires, MIL 2.0 whip, MIL EXT 2.0, Spike Mount, choked coax, hardware, and sling bag. With a suitable wide-range tuner or coupler, the documented configurations cover 1.8 through 54 MHz and give one operator a practical continuum between speed, portability, height, and field performance.
That makes the MPAS 2.0 especially compelling for POTA, camping, overland travel, emergency preparedness, NGO or government field work, and any station where effective HF communications must pack down, move quickly, and adapt to the available site.

- Build the taller portable vertical with MIL EXT 2.0 for improved lower-frequency performance.
- Configure the 73 ft wire as a horizontal wire, sloper, inverted V, or inverted L.

System design and expansion options
The core system combines the selected HYBRID MICRO or MINI matching unit and antenna base, 73 ft antenna wire, 25 ft counterpoise wire, MIL 2.0 whip, MIL EXT 2.0, CHA SPIKE, coax with an integrated RFI choke and UHF connectors, stainless hardware, and a field sling bag.
Documented high-performance options sold separately include the CHA COUNTERPOISE KIT, CHA CAP HAT, CHA JAW MOUNT, CHA UCM, and CHA UGS. Select accessories for the intended configuration; MPAS READY participation or a shared thread does not make every possible combination automatically approved.

Variant and operating requirements

- Every documented MPAS 2.0 configuration requires a suitable wide-range antenna tuner or coupler.
- The MIL 2.0-only vertical is usable across the documented range but has limited performance below 7 MHz.
- Use the counterpoise with vertical and unbalanced wire configurations as directed by the guide.
- Use appropriate mast support and guying for the selected vertical or wire deployment.
- Expected SWR depends on frequency, configuration, site, and ground conditions; verify the completed deployment before transmitting.

Deployment and maintenance
- The official guide describes the MPAS 2.0 as totally waterproof; after field use, clean and dry the components and inspect them for wear.
- Keep all joints clean and hand-tight; do not force 3/8-24 connections.
- Protect bare MIL EXT aluminum joints from corrosion with the guide-recommended anti-oxidant maintenance.
- Collapse the MIL 2.0 from the top as directed by the guide to protect its internal connecting cord.
- Verify SWR after every configuration or site change.
- This consumer product is not the ruggedized military MPAS version.
