LEFS 8010 (Lightweight End Fed Sloper) EFHW · Wire Antennas

A wire radiator or wire antenna system for documented horizontal, sloping, inverted-V, inverted-L, dipole, or NVIS use.

Why operators make room for it

Put useful wire in the air without carrying a permanent tower

A field site may offer height, distance, or concealment—but rarely all three in exactly the right places.

That is where CHA LEFS 8010 (Lightweight End Fed Sloper) EFHW enters the kit. The LEFS 8010 is designed for the trail. The sturdy line winder with integral high-efficiency impedance matching network transformer, ultra-thin 20 gauge PTFE antenna wire , and lightweight Micro 90 paracord enables highly portable eight band operation without the extra bulk of an antenna tuner. It can even do Near- Vertical Incident Sky wave (NVIS) communication! The LEFS is perfect for backpackers, hikers, bikers, campers, and survival communication.

That flexibility gives an operator a credible path from a compact field kit to a full-size radiator, while the official configuration still governs feedpoint, support, tuning, and safety choices.

Best for

A field site may offer height, distance, or concealment—but rarely all three in exactly the right places.

What’s included
  • 1 X CHA LEFS (≈63' long - Tinned Copper PTFE (Teflon) (-70°C to 150°C) wire)
  • 1 X CHA LEFS (≈67' long - Tinned Copper PTFE (Teflon) (-70°C to 150°C) wire)
  • 1 X ≈50' MICRO 90 Paracord
What else you need

Raise the wire with a support that satisfies the antenna guide's height, load, insulation, and guying limits.

What an operator can do

  • Select a documented horizontal, sloping, inverted-V, inverted-L, dipole, or NVIS arrangement.
  • Raise the wire with a support that satisfies the antenna guide's height, load, insulation, and guying limits.
  • Keep balanced dipole configurations symmetrical and do not add radial or counterpoise accessories unless the guide explicitly requires them.
Balanced-system rule: Do not add radial or counterpoise accessories to a dipole configuration unless the official guide explicitly requires them.

“Most high-power EFHWs are sold as fixed-length models (40–10 around ~63–66 ft, or 80–10 around ~130 ft). The LEFS 8010 is engineered to do both with a purpose-built extension connection—so you can switch missions without cutting wire or rebuilding your station.”

The Lightweight End Fed Sloper (LEFS) 8010 is an eight band, no- tuner, High Frequency (HF) antenna for use on the 80, 40, 30, 20, 17, 15, 12, and 10 meter Amateur Radio Service (ham) bands (60 meters with a tuner). Its’ minimalistic design and lightweight components are intended for the serious backpacker and outdoor adventurer. Leave the tuner and SWR meter at home – just bring a radio and a pair of boots!
