The wire shape is an electrical decision as well as a mechanical one. Changing one endpoint can change both the match and where the signal goes.
The CHA LEFS 4010 puts a full 65 ft HF radiator into a compact 1.1 lb package for operators who would rather carry antenna wire than a heavy support system. Its integrated end assembly combines the suspension point, line winder, 49:1 matching network, and both EFHW and dipole feed connections.
What matters for this decision
- The current guide names sloper, horizontal NVIS, and half-wave dipole configurations. It does not publish the 65 ft EFHW as an inverted-V configuration.
- If an inverted-V is the requirement, use the dedicated dipole attachments with a documented resonant paired wire set and suitable center support.
- Do not bend the 65 ft end-fed wire into a neighboring geometry and keep calling it the controlled LEFS 4010 sloper.
Why operators choose this system
For POTA, SOTA, hiking, biking, and temporary HOA operation, its strongest advantage is a complete resonant field workflow: raise the feed assembly, pull out the wire, connect the supplied choked RG-316 when that variant is selected, and operate four popular bands without stopping to adjust the antenna.
Published operating reference
- Published bands without a tuner: 40, 20, 15, and 10 meters.
- Published tuner-assisted bands: 30, 17, and 12 meters.
- Published power: 100 W SSB, 50 W CW, and 25 W digital or other modes.
- Published size: 65 ft wire, approximately 1.1 lb, one-operator setup around 10 minutes.
Make the next deployment repeatable
Record product revision, configuration, wire dimensions and bearings, endpoint heights, support hardware, return path, coax and choke condition, tuner state, analyzer reference plane, weather, and on-air reports.
This lesson explains the operating choice in plain language. The current guide still controls assembly, dimensions, power limits, and safety.
