CHA 34HD REDUCER KIT Wind, Guying, and Mechanical Safety

The CHA 34HD REDUCER KIT is the missing mechanical interface between the narrower CFM-34HD base and the 3-inch CHA PORTA-MOUNT family. It keeps the mast centered and supported instead of letting a high-leverage field system ride loosely in an oversized mount.

Mechanical safety comes before SWR:

The CHA 34HD REDUCER KIT is the missing mechanical interface between the narrower CFM-34HD base and the 3-inch CHA PORTA-MOUNT family. It keeps the mast centered and supported instead of letting a high-leverage field system ride loosely in an oversized mount.

Stop-work conditions

  • Do not raise a mast if either sleeve is missing, loose, cracked, or not fully seated.
  • Do not overtighten and deform the mast.
  • Control the fall zone and use the required guying.
  • Lower the mast before removing the reducer or mount restraint.

Control wind, leverage, and movement

  • The current kit uses an upper two-piece sleeve, a lower stabilizer, stainless hardware, and the mast protective/bottom cap identified in the mast guide.
  • Choose the PORTA-MOUNT separately for the actual vehicle or structure.
  • The reducer does not increase the mast load, height, or wind rating.

Recover without creating the next failure

  • Inspect sleeve halves, lower stabilizer, protective cap, flange, and hardware.
  • Remove grit from every mating surface.
  • Keep the complete kit together.
  • Replace distorted or missing parts; do not improvise shims.

Guying can stabilize a documented installation, but it does not increase the published load or make an unapproved support chain safe.

Use the current CHA 34HD REDUCER KIT instructions.
