CHA CFM-34 Selection and Load-Planning Guide

The CHA CFM-34 puts a wire antenna more than 34 feet above the site while collapsing to 23 1/2 inches. At 2 lb 9 oz, it gives portable, HOA, and field operators practical height without committing the property or vehicle to a permanent tower.

Choose from the complete load: The CHA CFM-34 puts a wire antenna more than 34 feet above the site while collapsing to 23 1/2 inches. At 2 lb 9 oz, it gives portable, HOA, and field operators practical height without committing the property or vehicle to a permanent tower.

Use these selection checks

  • Choose it when the antenna benefits from substantially more height and the site can safely accommodate the larger fall radius.
  • The published mast load is 1 lb; include every suspended feedpoint, wire, carabiner, and vertical pull in that decision.
  • Use a documented 3/8-24 base mount and stabilize the complete footprint before raising the antenna.
  • Compare the 34-foot footprint with CFM-16 before assuming taller is always easier or better.

Confirm the support chain

  • Use the guide table for approved Chameleon wire-antenna attachment methods.
  • The base can engage a CHA SPIKE MOUNT or UCM, but the site and load still control whether that mount is appropriate.
  • Carbon fiber is conductive enough to couple to nearby wire; preserve the separation and geometry described by the antenna guide.
  • Do not infer compatibility from a tip ring, carabiner, or 3/8-24 thread alone.

Reject the plan when

  • Keep the full mast and antenna fall zone away from people, power lines, structures, and traffic.
  • Reduce height or lower the system when wind or wire tension makes the mast unstable.
  • Stay within the 1 lb published load.
  • Do not erect or lower the mast without controlling every attached wire and feed line.

Price and physical fit come after the site, load, and complete configuration. If any published limit is missing, do not silently invent one; reduce the load or ask Chameleon technical support to review the exact installation.

Use the current CHA CFM-34 instructions.
