CHA F-LOOP Series Configuration Guide: Digital Modes

Digital operation with the discontinued CHA F-LOOP 3.0 demands more conservative power than casual SSB because the carrier or tones can produce high average heating in the loop and tuning network.

What matters in the field: Digital operation with the discontinued CHA F-LOOP 3.0 demands more conservative power than casual SSB because the carrier or tones can produce high average heating in the loop and tuning network.

What the operator is controlling

The guide limits the standard system to 10 W continuous-duty modes and 25 W intermittent SSB unless the exact documented Power Compensator configuration and its lower-of-all-components limits apply.

Where people get into trouble

Adding a Power Compensator does not make tuning optional or protect against high SWR. Its guide requires tuning at 5 W or less, constant SWR monitoring, and immediate power reduction if SWR fluctuates.

A repeatable field method

Set final frequency and position first, tune at low power, use short transmit periods during setup, monitor temperature and SWR, and never apply F-LOOP 3.0 limits to the separate F-LOOP 4.0 design.

Product boundary

These F-LOOP instructions preserve the documented discontinued CHA F-LOOP 3.0 system for existing owners. They do not transfer hardware, tuning, power, or compatibility claims to the separate pre-production CHA F-LOOP 4.0.
