In plain language: CHA LEFS 4010 HOA and Stealth Installation Guide works when the chosen CHA LEFS 4010 geometry fits the real site, operating path, setup time, and recovery plan.

A field antenna earns its place when the operator can deploy it safely, point its useful energy toward the required path, and recover it without improvisation.

The CHA LEFS 4010 puts a full 65 ft HF radiator into a compact 1.1 lb package for operators who would rather carry antenna wire than a heavy support system. Its integrated end assembly combines the suspension point, line winder, 49:1 matching network, and both EFHW and dipole feed connections.

What matters for this decision

  • Sloper: the fastest field arrangement, using one support with the end assembly around 15–20 ft high and the far end anchored with some sag.
  • Horizontal NVIS: both ends supported around 12–15 ft high for strong high-angle regional work when the band and ionosphere support the path.
  • Half-wave dipole: operator-supplied or optional paired resonant wire sets use the dedicated dipole attachments and dipole coax connector.
  • Plan overhead clearance, public access, feed-line routing, and recovery before raising the wire.
  • Practice the configuration before it becomes part of an emergency or field activation plan.

Why operators choose this system

For POTA, SOTA, hiking, biking, and temporary HOA operation, its strongest advantage is a complete resonant field workflow: raise the feed assembly, pull out the wire, connect the supplied choked RG-316 when that variant is selected, and operate four popular bands without stopping to adjust the antenna.

Published operating reference

  • Published bands without a tuner: 40, 20, 15, and 10 meters.
  • Published tuner-assisted bands: 30, 17, and 12 meters.
  • Published power: 100 W SSB, 50 W CW, and 25 W digital or other modes.
  • Published size: 65 ft wire, approximately 1.1 lb, one-operator setup around 10 minutes.

Make the next deployment repeatable

Record product revision, configuration, wire dimensions and bearings, endpoint heights, support hardware, return path, coax and choke condition, tuner state, analyzer reference plane, weather, and on-air reports.

Boundary: The optional dipole arms are separate resonant configurations. The 65 ft EFHW wire, the optional dipole sets, and the LEFS 8010 or LEFS FEATHER are not interchangeable merely because they belong to the same product family.
Keep the current guide with the station.
