CHA LEFS Series Installation Guide: Inverted-V Configuration

An inverted-V LEFS installation requires a documented LEFS configuration that actually authorizes that geometry; the current CHA LEFS 8010 guide lists only end-fed sloper and end-fed horizontal/NVIS as its two basic configurations.

The design point: An inverted-V LEFS installation requires a documented LEFS configuration that actually authorizes that geometry; the current CHA LEFS 8010 guide lists only end-fed sloper and end-fed horizontal/NVIS as its two basic configurations.

Why the complete system matters

Other LEFS-family products and optional dipole wires may support inverted-V arrangements, but family name and connector fit do not transfer that approval to the 8010 EFHW radiator.

The assumption that breaks it

Bending the LEFS 8010 into an inverted V and calling it “close enough” changes current, impedance, end height, pattern, and support load without a guide-controlled reference.

Build or deploy it correctly

Identify the exact LEFS model and radiator first. For CHA LEFS 8010, use the guide’s sloper or horizontal layouts; use an inverted V only where the exact product guide documents it, then preserve included angle and feed support.

Configuration boundary

Use the exact product guide, electrical topology, geometry, materials, loading, feed, return path, support, and environment. Mechanical fit or a visually similar arrangement does not establish electrical equivalence.
