CHA LEFS Series Installation Guide: Portable Mast Deployment

A portable mast can support a CHA LEFS 8010, but it does not change the antenna into a new configuration. Reproduce either the guide’s end-fed sloper or its roughly 15-foot horizontal/NVIS layout.

What matters in the field: A portable mast can support a CHA LEFS 8010, but it does not change the antenna into a new configuration. Reproduce either the guide’s end-fed sloper or its roughly 15-foot horizontal/NVIS layout.

What the operator is controlling

For the normal sloper, the guide places the Line Winder Assembly about 15 to 25 feet high and runs the wire down to a safe low endpoint. The horizontal layout needs a second support and extra paracord.

Where people get into trouble

The mast must carry wire tension, feed-line pull, and wind without letting the high-voltage wire end reach people, metal, or power lines. A convenient threaded fit is not a load rating.

A repeatable field method

Inspect the mast and anchors, route the coax without pulling the feed assembly, raise the wire gradually, keep the documented geometry and clearances, and sweep the installed antenna before transmitting.

Product boundary

Follow the current guide for the exact CHA LEFS model, radiator, feed assembly, geometry, supports, and operating limits. A family name or mechanical fit does not establish electrical compatibility.
