CHA LINK-D15 Configuration Guide: Portable Contest Operation

For a portable operating event, LINK-D15 keeps 40, 20, and 15 meters in one organized dipole package. It can reduce setup clutter when those bands—not instant band changes—are the priority.

Start with the operating choice: For a portable operating event, LINK-D15 keeps 40, 20, and 15 meters in one organized dipole package. It can reduce setup clutter when those bands—not instant band changes—are the priority.

How the documented system works

The guide requires one band at a time, so switching means removing RF, lowering the antenna, and setting both legs identically. A support plan that makes the apex or ends easy to lower is more useful than a needlessly complex rig.

The boundary that prevents mistakes

The guide does not authorize remote switching, hot switching, mixed links, or simultaneous multiband operation. Event rules, band plans, duty cycle, and station power remain separate operator responsibilities.

Use this field sequence

Preflight all three link states, label the matching positions, test the coax, pack a clear lowering line, record analyzer checks, and assign one person to confirm both legs before returning to transmit.
