CHA MCC 2.0 Counterpoise, Ground, and Common-Mode Engineering

The CHA MCC 2.0 is a tuned-vertical loading component, so its radial system, isolation, whip, support, and coil setting must be treated as one complete antenna.

Product Installation Guides CHA MCC 2.0 Reviewed 2026-07-14
In plain language: The CHA MCC 2.0 is a tuned-vertical loading component, so its radial system, isolation, whip, support, and coil setting must be treated as one complete antenna.

Why this matters in a Chameleon system

The PRV 2.0 package includes the CHA SS INSULATOR and four 12.5-foot banana-plug wires. The SS17 is fully extended with MCC/PRV; the guide does not authorize substituting the SS25.

Build or diagnose it this way

  • Install the documented SS58 or fully extended SS17 recipe.
  • Connect all four 12.5-foot wires to the documented hub.
  • Use the SS INSULATOR to separate artificial radials from unused conductive support or variable soil.
  • Tune the installed antenna with an analyzer.

Wrong turns to avoid

  • Using SS25 because its thread fits.
  • Omitting the insulator because the spike touches soil.
  • Substituting ring-terminal wires without a documented attachment path.
