The most valuable field note is a short build sheet: exact components, geometry, heights, wire direction, counterpoise path, feed line, tuner state, band, and observations.
Build the documented shape
- Give each deployment a configuration name.
- Photograph the complete antenna and the feed point.
- Record measured heights and wire bearing.
- Save the analyzer sweep and tuner state.
- Note nearby metal, ground condition, weather, and any deviation from the guide.
Why an operator chooses it
Repeatability separates a useful observation from an anecdote. It also makes troubleshooting faster the next time the system behaves differently.
