CHA OCF40 Installation Guide: Inverted-V Configuration

The inverted-V is the OCF40’s most practical portable layout because one center tree or mast can support the feed point while the two unequal legs slope toward separate anchors.

Start with the real operating role: The inverted-V is the OCF40’s most practical portable layout because one center tree or mast can support the feed point while the two unequal legs slope toward separate anchors.

How the documented system works

Raise the matching transformer to about 25 feet when the site permits, extend the short and long wires in opposite directions, and secure the isolation rings with paracord or visible tent-stake lines.

The boundary that prevents mistakes

The apex height is a guide target, not proof of identical performance at every site. A narrow included angle, low ends, metal supports, or unequal routing can change resonance and radiation.

Use this field sequence

Lay both wires out before raising, attach the coax and suspension line, raise the transformer without pulling on the BNC, spread both legs with slight sag and public clearance, then sweep the installed antenna.
