Why this part earns its place
- Use 15 ft when the smaller 2.5 in base and 14 lb mast meet the job.
- Use 20 or 25 ft when the 3 in base and larger published wind-area capacity are required.
- Choose Wheel or Hitch Mount for temporary vehicle-supported deployment; choose Ground Sleeve, Top Mount, or Side Mount for the documented semi-permanent paths.
- Add the Mast Adapter only for antennas or rotators that require its 3/8-24 socket or 1 in by 6 in shaft.
What a complete deployment includes
- Confirm a clear area at least twice the mast-and-antenna height for the semi-permanent ground procedure.
- Keep a two-handed grip until each internal interlock has fully engaged.
- Attach HF wire through the swivel ring or carabiner as the guide shows.
- Never clamp brackets directly to the telescoping mast tubing.
Compatibility that matters
- The swivel ring supports documented HF wire endpoints or feedpoints.
- Verticals, loops, Yagis, rotators, and 3/8-24 antennas require the optional Mast Adapter.
- The 15 ft model is rated for 2.2 sq ft maximum antenna wind area; 20 and 25 ft models are rated for 3.3 sq ft under the guide conditions.
- The published wind-survival figures apply only to a properly installed in-ground mount within the wind-area limit.
Field safety and recovery
- Never raise or lower the mast near power lines or without control of the fall zone.
- Do not install during unsafe wind; get another person when the weight or site demands it.
- Do not let a telescoping section drop free.
- Treat temporary vehicle mounts and semi-permanent structure mounts as different installation paths.
- Lower from the lowest extended section upward with two-handed control.
- Inspect interlocks, tubing, swivel ring, cap, mount, and fasteners.
