Maintenance & Repair CHA PORTA-MOUNTS Reviewed 2026-07-14
Inspect before retuning: CHA PORTA-MOUNTS give the PORTA-MAST—and, through the documented reducer path, the CFM-34HD—a controlled base. Wheel and Hitch Mounts serve temporary vehicle sites; Top and Side Mounts serve bolted semi-permanent installations.

After every deployment

  • Inspect welds, plates, sleeves, fasteners, and coating after transport and use.
  • Remove grit before inserting a mast or reducer.
  • Replace bent or missing retention hardware.
  • Store mount-specific fasteners with the matching mount.

When something moves or the SWR changes

  • Stop transmitting and make the structure safe.
  • Inspect the base and work upward through every loaded interface.
  • Correct mechanical movement, moisture, damage, and feed-line strain before changing antenna tuning.
  • Rebuild the documented geometry and restart at low power.

Do not return to service

  • Confirm the structure or receiver can carry the mast, antenna, leverage, and wind load.
  • Keep the fall zone and public space controlled.
  • Lower the system before moving a vehicle or releasing a tire, hitch, or structural fastener.
Use the current CHA PORTA-MOUNTS instructions.
