Understanding the CHA POWER COMPENSATOR

The CHA POWER COMPENSATOR is a power-handling accessory for documented magnetic-loop systems; it does not broaden tuning range, improve efficiency automatically, or correct a mistuned antenna.

What matters in the field: The CHA POWER COMPENSATOR is a power-handling accessory for documented magnetic-loop systems; it does not broaden tuning range, improve efficiency automatically, or correct a mistuned antenna.

What the operator is controlling

Its guide specifies 3.5–29.7 MHz, 60 W intermittent SSB, or 30 W continuous duty at 2:1 SWR or less. The lowest power limit among the radio, loop, compensator, connectors, and duty cycle controls.

Where people get into trouble

Install it only as shown at the radiator/tuning-unit connection. Tune with 5 W or less, then increase gradually while constantly watching SWR; rapid fluctuation can indicate arcing and requires immediate power reduction.

A repeatable field method

Protect the canister from drops, stop above 2:1 SWR and retune from low power, and verify compatibility from the exact loop guide rather than connector fit alone.

Product boundary

These F-LOOP instructions preserve the documented discontinued CHA F-LOOP 3.0 system for existing owners. They do not transfer hardware, tuning, power, or compatibility claims to the separate pre-production CHA F-LOOP 4.0.
