CHA RXL Troubleshooting and Preventive Maintenance

Troubleshoot an existing RXL in signal-path order: power supply, bias-T indicator, powered BNC coax, loop flanges, preamplifier, receiver jumper, and receiver input.

Product Troubleshooting CHA RXL Receive Loop Reviewed 2026-07-14
Start with the real operating role: Troubleshoot an existing RXL in signal-path order: power supply, bias-T indicator, powered BNC coax, loop flanges, preamplifier, receiver jumper, and receiver input.

How the documented system works

The green bias-T indicator should be on. Confirm 12–14 VDC power, firmly hand-tightened loop flanges, secure coax connections, and cables without cuts, exposed shield, or loose connectors.

The boundary that prevents mistakes

Do not transmit for testing, insert a meter in the powered coax, or replace several parts at once. The product is discontinued, so preserve original hardware and document symptoms before seeking service options.

Use this field sequence

Power down, inspect and reseat the loop, test the supply and cables, restore the direct bias-T path, power up for receive-only testing, and contact Chameleon Support with the exact failure and checks completed.

Source boundary

CHA RXL Operator’s Manual (discontinued-owner reference). The exact guide, product state, complete feed path, geometry, and safety limits control. Connector fit does not prove electrical or structural compatibility.
