CHA Support Hardware Installation and Deployment Guide

Support hardware is part of the antenna system, not scenery. The mast, base, adapter, guy point, guy lines, surface, wind, feed-line pull, and antenna geometry must work together before RF performance matters.

Build from the base upward: Support hardware is part of the antenna system, not scenery. The mast, base, adapter, guy point, guy lines, surface, wind, feed-line pull, and antenna geometry must work together before RF performance matters.

Deployment sequence

  • Lay out the complete footprint before raising anything.
  • Build and stabilize the base before loading the mast.
  • Attach antenna and guy hardware in the order required by the current guides.
  • Route feed line and wire so they do not pull the support sideways or cross public paths.

Before raising the antenna

  • Count height, weight, wind area, leverage, coax pull, wire tension, transport, and fall zone.
  • Choose a base for the site: ground, clamp, surveyor tripod, vehicle, deck, wall, or sleeve only where documented.
  • Use the stricter limit whenever the antenna, mast, mount, adapter, or environment disagrees.

Before transmitting

  • Confirm every mast section, clamp, mount, adapter, guy line, antenna attachment, coax route, and RF-return conductor.
  • Begin RF checks at low power after the final geometry is stable.
  • Record the exact configuration so a successful setup can be reproduced.
  • Reject power-line exposure, lightning, uncontrolled wind, weak surfaces, and public trip hazards.
  • Keep the fall zone clear.
