CHA V-DIPOLE Field Deployment and Setup Guide

Use the documented Spike Mount, UCM, or heavy surveyor-tripod/SURVEYOR-A path. Preserve the hub’s V geometry, install SS INSULATOR above a conductive support extension, hand-tighten the complete feed assembly, extend both SS17s equally, and keep the public clear.

Start with the operating decision: Use the documented Spike Mount, UCM, or heavy surveyor-tripod/SURVEYOR-A path. Preserve the hub’s V geometry, install SS INSULATOR above a conductive support extension, hand-tighten the complete feed assembly, extend both SS17s equally, and keep the public clear.

How the system behaves

The Add-On Kit supplies two M-COILs, CHA SS INSULATOR, hairpin match, CHA BLANK, RF adapters, and SINGLE EXT. It does not include the two SS17 whips, HUB, or coax normally supplied by CHA TDL. Those exact parts complete the antenna.

The boundary that prevents mistakes

Remove RF before touching whips, coils, hairpin, or adapters. Use hand force only, keep the stainless whips away from power lines and people, stabilize the mount, isolate unused conductive support, and stop when wind or leverage makes the structure uncertain.

Use this field sequence

On 40 and 30 meters install both M-COILs and the hairpin; on 20–6 meters remove the coils or use the documented jumper and omit the hairpin. Start from the guide table, sweep broadly, and shorten or lengthen both SS17s equally until resonance is in the required band segment.
