CHA V-DIPOLE Safety, Inspection, and Maintenance

Remove RF before touching whips, coils, hairpin, or adapters. Use hand force only, keep the stainless whips away from power lines and people, stabilize the mount, isolate unused conductive support, and stop when wind or leverage makes the structure uncertain.

Start with the operating decision: Remove RF before touching whips, coils, hairpin, or adapters. Use hand force only, keep the stainless whips away from power lines and people, stabilize the mount, isolate unused conductive support, and stop when wind or leverage makes the structure uncertain.

How the system behaves

Remove RF before touching whips, coils, hairpin, or adapters. Use hand force only, keep the stainless whips away from power lines and people, stabilize the mount, isolate unused conductive support, and stop when wind or leverage makes the structure uncertain.

The boundary that prevents mistakes

The V-DIPOLE is compact, balanced, resonant, and needs no tuner, but it requires physical whip changes for band changes, exact symmetry, safe support, and more assembly than a broadband vertical. Its low-mounted V raises the ends compared with a horizontal dipole at the same feed height.

Use this field sequence

Use the documented Spike Mount, UCM, or heavy surveyor-tripod/SURVEYOR-A path. Preserve the hub’s V geometry, install SS INSULATOR above a conductive support extension, hand-tighten the complete feed assembly, extend both SS17s equally, and keep the public clear.
