Choosing Between the 102" and 145" LMR-400 Radiators

On the discontinued F-LOOP 3.0, the 102-inch standard flexible radiator and the 146-inch booster radiator are different controlled configurations, not interchangeable lengths of spare coax.

What matters in the field: On the discontinued F-LOOP 3.0, the 102-inch standard flexible radiator and the 146-inch booster radiator are different controlled configurations, not interchangeable lengths of spare coax.

What the operator is controlling

The standard loop covers the basic operating range; the larger 48-inch booster loop, paired with its 8-inch coupling loop, improves the 60-through-15-meter configuration described for the TOTAL model.

Where people get into trouble

Changing radiator diameter without changing the documented coupling loop and mast setup alters inductance, capacitance, resistance, tuning range, coupling, and mechanical load.

A repeatable field method

Use the radiator and coupling loop as a named pair, reproduce its guide geometry, tune at low power, and do not transfer these F-LOOP 3.0 parts or claims to the pre-production F-LOOP 4.0.

Product boundary

These F-LOOP instructions preserve the documented discontinued CHA F-LOOP 3.0 system for existing owners. They do not transfer hardware, tuning, power, or compatibility claims to the separate pre-production CHA F-LOOP 4.0.
