MPAS READY Connectors and Coaxial Adapters

An adapter solves a connector-interface problem; it does not prove that the two connected products form a supported antenna system.

In plain language: An adapter solves a connector-interface problem; it does not prove that the two connected products form a supported antenna system.

Why this matters in a Chameleon system

MPAS READY deliberately reuses 3/8-24 hardware, BNC, SO-239, PL-259, ring terminals, and banana plugs. Electrical role, loading, RF return, support limits, and the current guide still control the complete build.

Build or diagnose it this way

  • Write down the connector at each end.
  • Use the fewest adapters and support their weight.
  • Confirm the whole configuration before transmitting.
  • Inspect adapters when SWR, heating, or intermittent behavior changes.

Wrong turns to avoid

  • Equating thread fit with RF compatibility.
  • Building an unsupported adapter stack.
  • Using an adapter to bypass a required feed or ground connection.
