Portable vs. Fixed Installation of the CHA MCC 2.0

The MCC 2.0 is optimized for portable, operator-adjusted vertical configurations. A fixed installation adds weather, corrosion, wind, fatigue, public access, lightning protection, and remote-retuning requirements that the portable recipe does not solve automatically.

Start with the complete system: The MCC 2.0 is optimized for portable, operator-adjusted vertical configurations. A fixed installation adds weather, corrosion, wind, fatigue, public access, lightning protection, and remote-retuning requirements that the portable recipe does not solve automatically.

What the product controls

Portable use lets the operator inspect every assembly, choose base or center loading for the site, deploy counterpoises, tune in final geometry, and recover the system after operating. Fixed use needs a separate structural and protection plan.

The boundary that prevents mistakes

Leaving a portable PRV/MCC stack outdoors because it survived one calm deployment is not evidence of a permanent rating. A matching thread or stable SWR does not establish wind survival, weather sealing, bonding, or safe access.

Use this field sequence

For portable work, follow the guide and dismantle after use. For any fixed proposal, obtain documented environmental and load limits, engineer the mount and guys, coordinate grounding/lightning protection, and preserve access for inspection and retuning.
