CHA T-RISER

Sale price $40.00

Lightweight support. More useful placement.

Raise your antenna. Not your pack weight.

Your operating position should not be dictated by mud, tall grass, or the lack of a convenient support. CHA T-RISER raises lightweight antenna equipment above the ground and packs down when the activation is over. Carry it for POTA, SOTA, camping, travel, or a temporary station on a patio or balcony where space is limited.

Four black anodized-aluminum sections extend from 16 to 48.6 inches. The complete kit weighs just 0.6 lb and supports approximately 5 lb of vertical load at full extension. Choose a suitable tripod, spike, or clamp mount for the site, then set the height to suit the job.

Initial production run: 73 kits. Additional production is not confirmed.

Put the support where you need it

One compact riser. Several ways to get off the ground.

A spike suits ground that accepts it. A tripod provides an alternative on firm surfaces where a spike cannot be used. A suitable clamp can secure the riser to a sound rail or table edge. The mount, supporting surface, antenna load, and weather must all suit the completed installation.

Collapsed CHA T-RISER attached to an optional carbon fiber tripod

The T-RISER does not level a support or stabilize soft ground. Choose a secure base before extending it. For balcony or HOA use, obtain any necessary permission and maintain safe clearances.

Practical field jobs

A useful support point for a lightweight station

Support a wire feedpoint

Hold the CHA LEFS FEATHER feedpoint above wet ground or vegetation using its support point. Independently support the wire and coax so their pull is not carried by the extended riser.

Raise a counterpoise support point

Use it as a lightweight mechanical support in a planned elevated-wire layout. Support the other endpoints separately, preserve the antenna’s required RF-return arrangement, and keep tension off the mast. Raising one point does not elevate the complete radial system.

Position an F-LOOP coupling loop

Compatible with CHA F-LOOP 2.0 and 3.0 for supporting the coupling loop. Retain the loop’s prescribed attachment and spacing. This does not mean the riser supports every part of the complete loop assembly.

Adapt to the operating site

Use an appropriate mount to place lightweight equipment above grass, shallow snow, or a muddy surface, or to set up at a campsite without a convenient tree. Clearance helps deployment; it does not guarantee better gain or efficiency.

Stainless-steel 3/8-24 stud and nut
Deployment
Temporary, supervised portable use with a stable compatible mount

Load planning: the approximately 5 lb specification is a vertical load at full extension. It is not a wind rating or a sideways wire-tension rating. Account for the attached equipment’s height, leverage, and wind area, not just its weight.

Included in the kit

CHA T-RISER with included CHA TRIPOD ADAPTER and stainless-steel stud hardware
The T-RISER and included connection hardware. No antenna or base mount is supplied.
  • One telescopic riser
  • One CHA TRIPOD ADAPTER
  • One stainless-steel 3/8-24 stud and nut

Supply or choose separately

A stable base mount, the antenna or wire equipment, feed line, and any attachment, strain-relief, insulation, or RF-return components required by the completed antenna.

The CHA CARBON FIBER TRIPOD, CHA SPIKE MOUNT, and CHA UCM are mounting options. They are not included in this kit.

Do not treat the T-RISER as a replacement for an antenna’s required insulator, feedpoint, loading component, or radial system.

Understand the connection before assembly

Two native threads. Included adapter hardware.

Bottom: 3/8-24 female

The pinned stainless-steel base adapter has a 3/8-24 female thread. Use the included 3/8-24 stud and nut where the selected base mount requires a male connection.

Top: 1/4-20 male

The native stainless-steel top stud is 1/4-20. The CHA TRIPOD ADAPTER fits that stud and provides a 3/8-24 female connection. Use the supplied stud where a male connection is required, in the position needed by your chosen assembly.

There is one included 3/8-24 stud and nut. If your installation requires a male 3/8-24 connection at both ends at the same time, additional appropriate hardware is needed.

Matching threads establish a mechanical connection, not approval of an entire antenna configuration. Preserve every required electrical-isolation, counterpoise, choke, and tuning component. Anodized aluminum is not a rated electrical insulator.

Set up deliberately. Pack down easily.

Before you extend it

  1. Secure the base. Select the mount and a sound supporting surface. Check that the complete load cannot tip or loosen the mount.
  2. Choose the connections. Match thread size and gender, seat parts squarely by hand, and secure the assembly without forcing threads or using the mast as a tightening lever.
  3. Set a useful height. Open the section locks, extend only as far as needed, then close the locks and check each section for slipping before adding the working load.
  4. Support the rest of the station. Keep wire tension and coax weight off the extended riser. Follow the antenna’s installation instructions and check tuning after changing its position.
  5. Stay with the installation. Recheck stability as conditions change. Lower and unload the riser if it moves, slips, or becomes unstable. Remove equipment and support each section while collapsing it; keep fingers clear of the locks.

Keep the assembly away from power lines. Maintain the antenna manufacturer’s RF-exposure clearance and keep people clear of wires, radials, and the fall area. The riser is not a protective electrical insulator. No wind, weatherproofing, or permanent-installation rating is specified.

Useful answers before you order

Questions about the T-RISER

Is the tripod, spike, clamp, or antenna included?

No. The kit includes the telescopic riser, one CHA TRIPOD ADAPTER, and one stainless-steel 3/8-24 stud and nut. Other equipment in the installation photos is sold separately.

Can I put any antenna weighing less than 5 lb on it?

No. Approximately 5 lb is the vertical load at full extension. A tall antenna can create substantial leverage and wind load even when it weighs less. The mount and complete antenna arrangement must also be suitable.

Does raising the antenna guarantee better performance?

No. The practical benefit is controlled placement and clearance. Ground, antenna geometry, return wires, nearby objects, and feed-line routing all affect installed performance. Check and retune the complete antenna after moving it.

Does it replace the PRV’s extension or insulator?

Do not substitute it for a required antenna component. A shared thread does not establish the correct RF current path or safe structural arrangement. Use the PRV’s documented component stack unless a specific T-RISER installation has been provided.

Will there be another production run?

The initial run consists of 73 kits. Additional production is not confirmed. Current ordering availability is shown with the purchase controls.

Where are the setup instructions?

The connection, setup, and safety essentials are on this page. Use the attached antenna’s current instructions for its electrical assembly, tuning, and operating clearances.
