Choose by the complete electrical path. Confirm nominal and maximum voltage, continuous and surge current, connector type, polarity, fuse or protection requirements, switching method, control interface, enclosure, conductor size, and installation environment. The lowest-rated device, connector, fuse, or cable governs the circuit. Plan for the radio's actual transmit demand and duty cycle rather than receive current alone. Installation should preserve strain relief, ventilation, service access, and clear labeling. Follow the individual product documentation and applicable electrical practices before placing any accessory between the power source and the station equipment.
